SB: A new Tie down method for SB ???





I'm planning on using the "tie-down" method for the walls with strained high
tensile wire over a top plate. The structure will be non load bearing. Seems
to me that the only methods of securing the wire to the slab that have been
described are :
1.	Put some eye bolts into the slab around the perimeter , or 
2.	Place some plastic pipe in  the slab pre pour and then thread the
wire through. 

I thought another way would be to form a couple of loops of the wire into a
large "figure eight" , and twist either end to get a  long strand with loops
at either end.  This would then be set under the slab pre pour so that there
is one loop poking out of the form on the outside , and another loop poking
through the slab on the perimeter of the inside of the wall. By using
several coils of wire in the one "figure eight", I think you are multiplying
the tensile strength compared to one "strand".   

The advantages I see here are : 
1.	That you can use wire and not have to drill and set eye bolts, 
2.	The wire is flexible and will pull in flat against the wall  once
strained.

Any thoughts or other comments on experiences with tie down methods?
