SB: Workshop In Ireland

Straw Bale Work Shop In Ireland

Hi to all. We are holding two weekend Straw Bale workshops in Ireland on,
August 3rd thru 5th and August 10th thru 12th 2001.
The workshops are being taught by Janet Johnston from “Skillful Means”
whom alot of you all will know. Janet is a builder/architect with a
wealth of experience in straw bale construction.
The home we are building is 2000sq ft, post and beam with passive solar
gain which Dan Smith helped us design. (We lived in California for a
number of years)

The workshop will be held on a rural site on the southeast coast of
Ireland overlooking the sea. The beach is minutes away on foot with
plenty of cockles and mussels for picking.
Dunmore East which is a beautiful fishing village is three miles away
and Waterford City seven.

For the hardy among you there is camping on site with toilets but no
showers (sorry).
There is also camping, self catering cottages, B&Bs and hotels in
Dunmore East. Keep in mind that the first weekend is a bank holiday in
Ireland and accommodation can be expensive and will need to be booked in
advance. Anyone who is camping on site and wishes to attend both
workshops is welcome to stay on site for the week .

The cost is 150.00 punts per weekend which works out at about $180.00
dollars.
This will include Lunch both days as well as morning and afternoon snacks.
