SB: Retro fit / adjusting bales to a set roof height

I have finally found a shed for my first SB venture which is a good balance
between using a kit structure but not a steel frame (see the ecobarn at
http://www.timberbuilt.com.au/ecobarn.htm
<http://www.timberbuilt.com.au/ecobarn.htm> ). Question is that the roof is
a set height so the bales will be 6.6 high up the wall.

What to do with the final run of bales which will have to be 0.6 of the
normal height ? Re- tie them vertically for a series of half bales or re tie
them horizontally for a "flatter" original ? I am planning to use a tie down
to the slab and the wall will be non load bearing. Maybe place the top plate
at the 6th row and in fill with half bales above this ?

My main concern is to maintain some integrity in the final row of bales

Would appreciate your experience, especially the "retro fit" scholars who
would have struck this before
