Hi Bill- (not an endoresement- just info)
yes I did talk at length with these folks, they run a sale all summer,
each 5' section MUST have a lip of shingle at least 1.5"  hanging off
the roof in order for the water to hit the staggered slats correctly.

for those who don't know just imagine a 6 piece portion of a window
blind. The rigid slats are each extended beyond the upper most one so
they stick out at a slight angle, like stairs.  and the water hits and
bounces out until it's a spray.

like so.  but they only come in white, silver and brown, they were
resaonablely priced I thought ( can't remember)
