Putting a high gloss, durable finish on concrete isn't rocket science, but 
it's close.
There is no way that an inexperienced person would get the same results by 
"playing around". If I were going to commit to a large project in my 
kitchen that will be there for many years, $45 for expert advice from 
people who know what they are doing seems like a very good deal.
