Seems like this one never got answered.  Don't know of anything recent, but 
there is the Burritt Mansion (now a museum) in Huntsville.  It was built 
with straw bales in the 1930's.

I was wondering if there are any strawbale structures in the Alabama area
that My Hubby and I could see?
We are new to this list and are very excited about the possibility of
building in the near future in NM or CO. (we are done with work here in AL
in Jan)
Am trying to absorb all the info we can get!!! Having a hard time trying to 
come up with a plan that has what we want for a reasonable size(cost).
