Re: SB: "Paul Fox" "virus or worm"?
I got a bad dose of this, luckily on a new hard drive so it didn't take
forever to scan and clean.
I went to a free site and used the "housecall" diagnosis and fix:
http://www.antivirus.com/pc-cillin/default.asp
It found all the infected files and removed them pretty quickly. This
particular nastygram does involve the Windows Registry so it's nervewracking
to remove by hand, though it can be done. I let PC-Cillin do it for me. I
downloaded a 30 day trial. If it stands up to this epidemic, I'll pay the
$30 for a year's worth of updates.
