     I don't know about actually getting rid of those which are 
ensconced.  I used traps.  Very quick and painless if the traps 
springs across the neck, as it usually does.

     However, let me second Ron's recommendation.  Before I trapped 
them, I blocked all access holes in the exterior.  They have never 
returned.

     I think that it's pretty much inevitable that they will infest 
the walls during construction.  Those bales are just too tempting, 
especially if you have one coat of stucco on one side and no stucco 
on the other side for awhile.  On the other hand, as long as you can 
seal things up, it will only be a temporary problem.
