Yes, Kivas are great but I would think a Yurt would go up and come down
faster and could be cooled with bale walls and the opening at the top for
ventilation, etc.

Or just make a circle of those big bales with a yurt top.  Or the roof
constructed in a spiral.  Its late and I cannot remember what the spiral
roof construction is called or where the url for that site is....oh well.
