SB: Ben

Hi all-

It occurs to me that many of the people now on the list don't know about
one of Texas' best SB resources-- Ben Obregon. 

Ben is an excellent architect who puts his efforts out for the world to
see-- as he and his wife live in a SB home that won the city of Austin's
very first (and maybe still the only!) 5 star energy rating. 

Ben's straw accomplishements are numerous, and if I write them down, I'll
get something wrong-- but here's some of it. He led the exploration of
straw as a building material with the Sustainable Building Coalition in
Austin and, when he was so successful that the meetings focused almost
exclusively on straw, led the founding of the Straw Bale Association of
Texas.

He bought David Eisenberg to Texas to lend credibility to our straw
efforts and to help in adding straw to the city's (Austin) building code.

He went to Tuscon to direct HFH's construction of two SB houses. And the
list goes on and on. 

So, it isn't at all surprising that, if the state of Texas wants to
explore SB, he is in the vanguard once again. We all are very proud of
this guy and grateful that he is a resource for us all.
