SB: Plaster reinforcement

Hello everyone
I was just wonder if anyone had ever considered using fiber mesh 
reinforcement instead of chicken wire and diamond lath to reinforce the 
plaster.  I'm not sure if this would still be considered environmentally 
friendly?
