SB: bales as bricks?

hello everyone

i was looking at some pictures of a mortared bale house, and it occured to me
that the issues of thermal bridging thru the mortar are very simply and
effectively resolved

i cannot think of why anyone might want to build this way but anyway, here
it is....in case someone might want to actually do this. lol

suppose one wanted to lay bales in say a 2 inch thick bed of mortar. simple
enough , for each course a 6" wide strip of 2" foam insulation board is
placed and pinned in place down the center of the course. a lovely 6" wide
bed of mortar can then be laid on both interior and exterior sides of the
insulation strip, and the ends of the bales done the same. i suppose one
could even run rebar or cables or ??? thru and around the mortar beds and
that that along with pinning the bales in the usual fashion would lead to
quite a substantial structure, and 6" inches of foam board would be a very
effective thermal break.

jusst a thought

have a great day
