     No.  There are plenty of strawbale structures in northern New 
England (like here in New Hampshire), so for those of you 'way down 
south there it won't be a problem.

     I got mine about four years ago, out of New York, for under $2.00 
per bale.  I haven't tracked things since, but if you shop around you 
should be able to get a reasonable price.
