Re: SB: Tools for SB building...

John,
I don't know if you are interested, but I came across another unit that is
being imported from Mexico and sold by a fellow in Oregon. I was told about
it by a plasterer from Utah who used it to do a 3,000 sf sb home in Utah
last year. It's a 1 1//2 gallon hand held hopper with three or four holes
at the bottom. The material simply falls to the bottom while air provided
by a hose blows it out.

I don't know what you are doing, but perhaps there is something of interest
to take note of. There is a web site with photos of this contraption, but I
don't have the address. Perhaps Nolan can help.

What interested me about it was that I immediately recognized that I could
make the holes bigger to accommodate the heavy straw mixes that we use. So
therefore it got my interest. Plus it was simply and I couldn't see anyway
it could clog up.

Here is his communication below along with his email address:

Hello Bill,
I use a 5 horse compressor with a large tank. It keeps up OK. In the
beginning I started by ganging together a couple of portable compressors and
a extra air tank. I sprayed a 22' diameter air form that way. It worked but
was marginal.
Yes, The $220 includes shipping. I did it that way to make it easier for
everyone so they wouldn't need to worry about getting stuck with a over
sized shipping bill.
I am in Eugene Oregon. Where are you?
Take care,
Nolan
