Well, I thought that it would be a good idea to ask an engineer about the
problem you've posed and  last night I was talking with David Mar, who's a
structural engineer.  He said to ask a farmer--in other words, to look and
see the solutions that are in use. Being practical folks farmers tend to go
for efficient solutions, in this case light metal buildings.
