CASBA Spring Meeting   May 10-12, 2002
Pine Manor Retreat Center
Lake Elsinore - Riverside County


This beautiful center is nestled in the pines above Lake Elsinore. Owner, Gail
Warner, had the dream to explore alternative building systems for new structures
at the center; the first was a cob building with a living roof. That project was
so successful that a 2nd smaller cob building is now under construction. Last
year we built a Straw Bale privacy wall at the entrance to the facility. Our
most recent project is a round building with a reciprocal roof, which is also
still under construction.

The facility sleeps 20 with lots of room for camping. The food is always
excellent with the choice of vegetarian or not. Pine Manor is located on the
Ortega Highway between San Juan Capistrano (Hwy I-5) and Lake Elsinore (I-15).
>From Capistrano, turn East on the Ortega Highway - From Lake Elsinore, exit West
on Hwy 74, which zigzags through town and finally up the side of the mountain.
Pine Manor is just west of Carrizo Village - turn North at the sign.

Costs:

$125 for the full conference, the first 20 to sign up, that want one, get
a bed otherwise camp (or stay off site). Use of the facilities from Friday
mid-afternoon to Sunday mid-afternoon. Meals included


$75 for Saturday only - includes meals


Add $50 for non-members (pays for CASBA membership for rest of the year)


Under 14 no charge as long as accompanied by responsible parent or guardian
