Thank you, kind sir.  We are very excited to get to the straw bales. 
Anita and I went to visit them in the barn where they were stored over
the winter just so that we knew they were ok.

We were disappointed that the engineer asked us to face stack our
bales.  He said that his biggest concern was the fact that there was not
sufficient evidence to date to support edge stacking in a structure the
size or height that we are planning to build.  He was personally
confidant that it would work fine but could not support that comfort
professionally, yet.

It's great to hear that other people are using edge stacking.  It seems
to be the trend here in Ontario but I thought it must be something in
our water.
