Hi All....this was forwarded to us from Destination Conservation...a group
here in Alberta that now is involved in schools all over the world.  We
participated in their youth presentations this past year.  They are doing a
wonderful job in promoting sustainability and all topics environmental
through the schools in our country.

The Airdrie Recycling Centre has a new building. The building in the
south-east industrial section is contructed primarily from strawbails! It
also sports features such as solar heating & electricity, retained rainwater
and reclaimed materials, among many others.

The centre will be featured in Ecofiles, on the CKUA radio network,
Saturday, June 1, at 12:10 PM. After that date, you will be able to find an
archived version of the episode at http://www.ckua.org/. Also watch for a
future article in the Calgary Herald.

The project was designed and built by ASH-Autonomous & Sustainable Housing
Inc. which has over 25 years of experience building environmentally friendly
buildings.
