Sure:
  Stucco Handbook For Builders.
  by: Herbert Nordmeyer
It is a pdf file.

I found it on the Internet a while back.
I have no idea where I got it. I search high and
low for it using google and couldn't find it again. Sorry.

During my search I found this:

http://www.stocorp.com/othersections.nsf/htmlmedia/Stuccotroubleshooting.pdf/$file/stuccotroubleshooting.pdf

(that long URL may get wrapped in the email, you may have to
cut and paste it back together)

In that document, it talks about the causes of map cracking:
   Excess water or lime
Poor aggregate/cement ratio (i.e. not enough aggregate)
   Poor aggregate gradation
   Rapid loss of moisture

The first point supports John Salmen's email about lime.

It would be fun to do some experiments with different
mix ratios to see this effect in action.

cheers,
John
