Re: SB: metal roof help wanted

I installed a metal roof last year. After getting quotes of 6-8
thousand dollars from several roofing contractors for metal, and
2200 and above for tar shingles (composite) I finally decided to
buy the materials for 1900 dollars and tackle the project myself.
Although my roof is nowhere as complicated as yours, I can assure
you that you CAN do it!. It took me 3 weekends and lots of
patience, but did it almost by myself (the wife helped hauling the
metal panels up). Just do some research on the net,
(metacrawler.com or vivisimo.com or muellers materials website
has .pdf files on the exact instruction how to put up a roof)
drive around and find examples of what you are trying to do, you
would be amazed at how much you can learn by just looking at
someone elses work. Above all, dont let the contractors dicourage
you. You can do it.
