Re: SB: instant hot water heaters?

In reply to a few requests for more info on propane demand heaters:

I used a Paloma demand heater. It was mounted on the bathroom wall,
and has the footprint of a large bathroom scale. There was a dial
which we usually kept on the lowest setting. That gave us enough hot
water for hand washing, and the occasional dish. For a shower or a
sinkful of dishes, we turned it all the way up and had as much hot
water as we wanted, for as long as we wanted.

I plan on installing one when we get around to building.

The Paloma sells for $464 for the smaller size, $884 for the larger
at the local propane place here in Fairbanks, Alaska, which is not
famous for low prices. (neither store nor town)
