Re: SB: Greywater (was Regarding Sun Mar)

i will be installing an indoor grey water system following the clivus model.
i checked with a site planner and zoning, and they both agreed that if my
grey water travels through the planter bed, and trickles down through
several feet of sand before running outside that the discharge would
actually be termed clean water. apparently they have regulations
concerning sand filtering and the amount i will be using is more than enough
for my household. we didnt get into it much, but zoning would also be
willing to try some outside garden filtering in which my grey water would
run directly into a garden or planter bed outside. this ofcourse would only
work when its not frozen, tho they did say that if i had a storage tank and
pumped that directly onto my garden in the winter to let it freeze, that it
would be acceptable as well. in the clivus model the discharge is run
through half pipes just under the surface of the planter or garden keeping
any food particles away from dogs etc...

there are two links on my site concerning this, i believe one is
www.greywater.com and shows the whole clivus set up as well as pictures of
its use in both indoor and outdoor situations around the states.
