For most well water situations here in western Canada we use the black
coiled pipe (pe). However if you are concerened with toxins, and I am sure
someone somewhere will come up with a method of leaching toxins out of pure
water, you can get coils of soft copper tubing. When I had my water service
replaced into our house in the city the plumber used a semi-clear, whitish,
type of plastic pipe. I don't know what it is only that if it ever freezes
you can hit it with a hammer and it won't break (good to know in Regina,
Sask. Canada where our winters often hit -40 C {which is also 40 below F}).
I phoned one of our building supply stores to find out what it is and the
clerk (naturally) had no idea what I was talking about. I will try and find
out what it is and let the list know.

so, back to my earlier question... just WHAT IS the best piping to carry
water. would copper be the best, providing the solder doesnt have lead in
it.
