Yes, aesthetics is an issue, but with planning, I don't think 
accessible services and attractive spaces have to be mutually 
exclusive. In any case it strikes me as odd that folks will step so 
far "outside the box" to use a non-standard building methods on a 
home and not rethink the usual assumptions about how to put services 
into it.

But maybe I'm just a fair trade caffiene-fueled armchair quarterback?
