SB: Persuasive words for the bank...

Hello all!

I have a request for the group. We have applied for financing of our "soon to be started" SB home here in southern
Monterey County, California. We have had a message from the bank that they'll now only finance 50%.

I appealed to the loan officer, who also is on our side for this "innovative" (her words) project. But we have to
convince the lender the bank goes through not just the people across the desk here in Monterey.
Our loan officer suggests we write a letter to her to pass along to the lender which essentially will educate and
persuade the lender to give us more money. A suggestion is that we stress the environmentally-friendly side of SB and its
high R value, etc...

I see this as an opportunity to educate this bank not only for us, but those who will hopefully follow. The lender
is not at all familiar with SB, but thinks we're going to use the straw out of its bales as a binder for concrete (i.e.
cob). How can I both educate and persuade this woman without also insulting her? Can I? Any words of wisdom?

Thanks.

Kellie D. Morgantini
