SB: Warmer doors

Strawbale wall- R-30+. Door in strawbale wall- R-3? I am thinking
about the design of better insulated doors. So far, I have concluded
that they must be thicker, and as free from thermal bridges as
possible. Hinges and hardware look like a problem area. Air seals
are important, but seem tractable to me. An airlock entryway is said
to make a big difference, but the door in the wall still deserves
improvement, in my opinion.

Has anyone else on the list worked on this problem? I would like to
hear other ideas, problems and solutions.
