SB: Toe up sill plate detail
Hi
Our building inspector suggested use of sill seal to keep moisture and
critters out of the sill plates and the straw. He also suggested using the
tar paper (felt) between the plates and 1st bale course.
I have been thinking about this for 3 years now and it never hit me before.
The bolts for the sill plates will poke holes in the felt due to the weight
of the bales. Course one little hole in 4 to 6 feet is a heck of a lot
better then no felt. But has anyone tried to prevent these punctures and
have a suggestion?
