Well, it's a bit of a ride from Southern AZ, but there is a BIG 
volunteer project going on in Texas - the owner/builder fell off the 
roof while putting the decking on in September and died 10 days 
later.  A bunch of the locals are helping the family finish by 
holding several wall stackings (it's a big house) and plastering 
weekends.

Initial bale stacking will occur on the weekend of
December 14 & 15.  300 bales will be stacked that
weekend.  A total of 1,150 bales will be used for the
entire house.

One of our other projects is the Willing Workers in Alternative 
Technology networking list.  The idea is to connect people who want 
to intern, apprentice, or otherwise learn about this stuff with 
people who have projects and are willing to do some on the job 
teaching.
